Saying you are too sensitive is someone's way of saying they cannot handle YOUR emotions. That is not your problem. It is theirs. You are NOT too sensitive. You are strong. Have the cry!
This last week I set out on a journey to grieve. Which will most likely include crying … a lot. I’ve spent my entire life avoiding the cry. I hate how it feels and how poofy my face gets. I appreciate this post a lot. Almost like I was meant to read it. Thank you ❤️
I have always been the girl who cries at everything. Happy things, sad things. At plays, movies, music. When my son does something amazing or when I think he's hurting. But now since my best friend died, I cry every day without fail, every morning, every night. And especially in the supermarket (damned that canned music). I think crying is healthy and necessary to heal. The tears cleans and nurture a broken soul. I think what you are doing is simply wonderful.
Most new adventures are scary at the start but once you have accomplished the desired function once or twice you wonder what there was to be be so worried about. I hope your New York experience is a positive one and you find that success and sense of accomplishment you are searching for. And yes a good cry is one of the best stress releases you can have. Love you.
Tears don’t mean you are weak. They are your body’s honest response to something your heart cannot yet put into words. Crying may not change what happened, but it can soften the burden of carrying it. This a lesson I had to learn at the age of 56 when my father passes away.
Dena, my birthday sista (well, +1 to you and at least with your real sister)...I've missed listening, reading, following....way back when I was heading to my own divorce journey but didn't really know it. So the daily cry. 100% And it isn't always sad or happy, it's just I have energy that I feel would be best let out by a cry (sometimes a quiet tearing of the eye, or a steady whimper with good tears, or a hearty, ugly cry). I keep thinking maybe it's partly due to the hormones (or lack thereof)...life (that's legit too)...I don't know. But, I think we've grown as a collective to accept crying as something that people can do anytime, anywhere, for whatever reason. So, I will join on your bandwagon...in fact I was tearing up reading this. xoxo
My nickname from early childhood was, and still is Teary Terri! My therapist tells me I cry because I feel deeply and love completely! I do cry everyday sometimes multiple times and I always think clearer and feel better. Cry it’s good for your mind, heart and soul.
Thank you for writing this. A goal of crying once a day is something that I explained to my daughter several years ago they still do not think she totally understands.
I cry easily, mostly at good things. Music shakes me to my foundation daily. Listening to it, talking about it, and even sometimes writing about music. Thinking about how far I have come after what I put myself through for two decades makes me emotional.
Crying is a good thing because it acts as a pressure valve for me. When the things that usually move me to tears have no effect, I know there is negativity somewhere in me that needs to be rooted out.
Girl! I cry over everything, well I used to. When my mom was diagnosed with cancer I cried that whole journey and I think I cried everyday after she passed for a whole year. I’m envious of your journey and excited to see where it takes you. How old was Leanne Morgan when she was “discovered”? You are equally as funny (and will always be one of my favorites) so go out there and give it your all!
I cry when I’m happy.
I cry when I’m sad.
I cry when I’m mad, which pisses me off and I cry more.
People say I’m too sensitive and not to cry so much. But I’m 58, this is who I am. I am a person who cries, for many, many reasons.

I like to say crying is a cleansing of the soul I always feel better after a good cry. Loved your story 💕
